BelleVue Lake & Luxury Lakeside Lodge

BelleVue or “Beautiful View” is situated in the heart of the French countryside allowing you and your friends to share gorgeous misty filled sunrises, stunning sunsets and spectacular views.

The lake provides the accomplished angler or anyone new to the sport, a perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment, with the added comfort of a stunning luxury lakeside lodge, complete with its own hot tub/spa.

Exclusively yours for the week, there is no need to share the lake or luxury lodge with anyone. Perfect for couples or small families, the lodge will comfortably accommodate four adults, with the lake able to support up to three anglers. This enables anglers the opportunity to move around and change swims as you wish.

First time visitors to BelleVue are regularly heard describing the lake as ‘simply beautiful with a feeling of peace and tranquility. We have guests who return multiple times during the season and consider “Belle”, as it’s affectionately known, to be their second home.

Lake Features

BelleVue lake is a little over three acres in size and contains every feature a carp angler could dream of. Tree lined margins, overhanging marginal shrubs and lilies, weeping willows and an island accessible by a bridge. All lakes on the Etang Marolles complex are spring fed, helping to maintain steady oxygen levels and keep catch rates consistent. The average depth in BelleVue is 3 – 4 feet, with some areas reaching between 6 – 7 feet. The lake bed consists of a mixture of silt, clay and gravel.

From each swim you will find many interesting features to target such as gravel bars and marginal shelves alongside silt and clay areas.

Intimate stalking corners alongside purpose built swims, lined with cherry half round logs and finished with fine gravel, ensure they remain mud free year round. Bank sticks, singlez systems or rod pods are perfect for use in all swims. Perhaps you would prefer to fish from the lodge’s own private swim, directly outside the bifolding doors and adjacent to the hot tub/spa, the choice is yours.

Luxury Lodge Facilities

Our luxury lakeside lodge, with its own purpose built swim positioned directly in front of the bi-folding doors, provides you with the opportunity to relax in both comfort and style while also enjoying exclusive fishing rights to the lake, for the duration of your stay.

With the ability to comfortably sleep four people, upstairs is a large bedroom with ensuite bathroom facilities containing a full bath, shower and low level WC. From the bedroom, french doors open onto a rooftop sun terrace providing stunning views of the lake. A perfect place to enjoy that early morning coffee, while watching the fish roll and the sun rise over the water.

Downstairs is a comfortable, air conditioned, open plan lounge complete with sofa bed, a log burner, further shower and toilet facilities and English television. The fully equipped kitchen containing a gas cooker, dishwasher and microwave, along with a kettle, toaster, coffee maker and the obvious pots, pans, crockery and cutlery you would find at home, is situated alongside the dining area containing a full dining table. Here, you may wish to enjoy dinner while gazing through a wall of glass and enjoying the beautiful sunset over the lake. Take a walk through the bi-folding doors to your very own private 3 acre oasis.

A picnic table provides you another spot to enjoy that misty early morning coffee in the peace and tranquillity of your perfect surroundings. A charcoal bbq makes dinner an easy fix and after a long day’s fishing or sightseeing with the family, leaves plenty of time to enjoy your own private hot tub/spa and a different kind of bubbles, The mesmerising giant fish tank, visible from the spa, will help you unwind and relax at the end of a fun packed day.

All bedding and towels are provided.

Alongside the lodge, your own private parking area facilitates the effortless unloading and loading of your personal items and fishing equipment.

Fish Stock

The Carp residing in BelleVue are very special. Over the years we have hand picked exquisitely marked high quality fish, ensuring we have a variety of specimens, providing something for everyone. The lake is home to high shouldered, scale perfect commons, deep chestnut golden commons typically found in English estate lakes, fully scaled mirrors, perfect zip linears and nude leathers. We have a number of character fish, which to this day take our breath away, when they appear on the bank.

The lake contains approximately 120 fast growing Carp, with a vast majority of these weighing between 30-40 pounds. The current lake records are a magnificent mirror of 52lb 2oz, named “Gertie” and a stunning, scale perfect common of 47lb 5oz. We have a number of grassies to 40lb+. Our lake predators are Pike, Zander and Perch. BelleVue does not have any Catfish or Poisson Chat. The lake supports a healthy head of Roach and Tench helping us to maintain a well balanced biomass.

Bait boats are allowed on BelleVue and are available for hire onsite. Bait is also available for purchase.
